ItemLog Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
ItemLog is designed as a local-first inventory and expiry tracking app. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the app, optional cloud features, optional AI features, subscriptions, analytics, and support.
1. Information We Process
Item records
You may create item records that include names, categories, quantities, dates, notes, locations, photos, reminders, and usage status. These records are stored on your device by default.
Photos, camera, voice, and text input
When you choose to use photo recognition, voice input, or AI assistant features, the app processes the content you provide for the requested feature. Photos may be compressed locally before being sent securely for recognition. Voice input may be converted into text when you choose to use dictation-related features.
Optional sync
If you enable system cloud sync, item data may be synced through your platform account using the system's private database infrastructure. You can disable sync in the app or system settings.
Subscriptions and purchases
When you purchase, renew, cancel, refund, or restore an in-app subscription, we process purchase identifiers, product identifiers, subscription status, expiration dates, and related platform server notifications to provide and verify subscription benefits.
Diagnostics and analytics
If you allow data collection, ItemLog may collect limited diagnostics and usage analytics such as app version, device model, language or region buckets, feature usage, performance timing, and error categories. Routine analytics do not include your item names, chat text, photo contents, custom category text, precise location, or local file paths.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide inventory lists, item details, reminders, and editing features.
- Run AI-assisted recognition or assistant replies when you request them.
- Verify subscriptions, refunds, renewals, and restore purchases.
- Improve reliability, performance, and product quality using limited diagnostics.
- Respond to support requests that you choose to send.
3. AI Processing
AI features are optional and require network access. When you send a request, ItemLog may route your text or compressed photos through a secure server so the requested result can be generated. Item names, brand names, and package text may remain in the original language recognized from the photo or text you provide.
Routine analytics and operational metrics are designed to use counts, buckets, timing, and error categories, without uploading item names, full chat text, image content, or custom category text.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers only to operate the app, provide AI recognition, verify purchases, support optional sync, analyze crashes or performance, or comply with legal requirements. These providers are expected to process information for the stated purposes.
5. Your Choices
- You can use manual item entry without AI recognition.
- You can grant or revoke camera, photo, microphone, speech, notification, and cloud sync permissions in system settings.
- You can disable optional analytics or data collection in the app where available.
- You can edit or delete item records in the app.
- You can manage subscriptions and refunds through your platform account settings.
6. Retention
Local item records remain on your device until you edit, delete, uninstall, or reset relevant data. Temporary AI request artifacts are retained only as needed for feature operation, troubleshooting, retry behavior, or short-lived cache cleanup. Subscription status records may be retained as needed for purchase verification, accounting, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
7. Children's Privacy
ItemLog is a general-purpose utility app and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support channel, contact us so we can review and respond.
8. International Use
Your information may be processed in regions where we or our service providers operate. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service and information processed.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as the app, legal requirements, or operational needs change. Updates will be posted on this page, and significant changes may also be described in the app or App Store listing.
10. Contact
